Sol Duc Falls


Sol Duc Falls, Olympic National Park, Washington.

An experiment with RAW Image format. It turned better than the JPEG file for the same generated by the camera :)

Added the frame and signature with GIMP

Summary of edits done:

With Canon Digital Photo Professional
* White balance adjustments for "Cloudy" setting.
* Reduced the excess blue tint in the image adjusting the histograme.
* Exported the RAW image to JPEG.

With GIMP
* Added a Fame for the image.
* Added Signature.

U got it wrong there :) This was with GIMP and Canon's software for processing RAW Image files :)

Was Just about to ask whether it was a painting.. Makes me wonder if all the photos I admire are edited in some way!! Sigh :(

Excellent capturem the water flow looks amazing. Did you use long exposure or did add some softenss to the water alone.
The frame gives an extra glow to the pic.

I did use long exposure to get the softness for water. Added the EXIF data along with the post now.

Its interesting how we feel how much a real photo looks like a painting and a real painting looks like a photo when we want to praise the piece of art..
